Enjoy these great recipes using one or more of Alaga brand Syrups and Hot Sauce. These recipes were submitted by some of our loyal consumers.
Alaga Great Grits

Alaga Great Grits
2 c. quick grits (not instant)
(8-oz.) cream cheese (cubed)
(16-oz.) sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 tsp. Alaga Hot Sauce
1/8 c. cream or milk
salt and pepper to taste
Optional additions:
chives or onions
bell peppers (red, yellow, green)
mushrooms
cubed cooked ham
crumbled bacon
chopped chili peppers
Cook the grits per instructions on box. Stir in cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Alaga Hot Sauce, salt and pepper. Pour in baking dish, cook for 30 minutes at 300 degrees or until cheese has melted and hot throughout.
Alaga Baked Beans
2 (26-oz.) cans baked beans
2 c. Alaga Cane Syrup
2 T. Worcestershire Sauce
6 strips of bacon
1 c. ketchup
1 chopped onion
2 T. mustard
Drain beans well and place in a baking dish with all other ingredients except bacon. Mix well and top with bacon strips halved. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until bacon is well browned.

Alaga Sweet Potato & Apple Salad
5 lbs. Sweet Potatoes
1 Granny Smith Apple
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped pecans
3/4 c. raisins
1 c. sour cream
1/4 c. orange juice
2 T. Alaga Syrup
1 T. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
In a large saucepan, cook potatoes in boiling water for 20 to 30 minutes, or until tender. Drain and cool potatoes: peel and cut into cubes. In a large bowl, combine potatoes, apple, celery, pecans, and raisins, tossing gently. In a small bowl, combine sour cream and remaining ingredients. Pour over potato mixture, tossing gently to coat. Cover and chill.
Alaga Layered Salad
1 med. head lettuce (small pieces)
1/2 c. finely chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
1/2 c. sweet or green onions
1 small can tiny english peas (drained)
1 small can sliced water chestnuts
6 to 8 strips crumbled, crisp bacon
1 pt. mayonnaise
1 T. sugar
1/2 c. grated cheese
1 T. Alaga Hot Sauce
Lay ingredients 1 through 7 in a bowl. Mix the mayonnaise, sugar and Alaga Hot Sauce together and spread over top of salad. Cover and seal all sides and corners. Refrigerate overnight. Spread with cheese before serving.
